This is one of my favorites, from “The Front Page,” the 1931 version with Pat O’Brian and Adolphe Menjou. One of the reporters had just walked into the press room at the courthouse to report a bulletin about the two city officials who are watching. When he’s done, he turns, flips them the bird, and acts as if he’s checking his fingernails.
